Starting a business online with affiliate programs is easy to
do. All you have to do is to find the program you want to join,
and sign up for free. However, if you join all of the ones that
interest you, you will probably end up disappointed in at least
some of them. So how do you decide which internet affiliate program
is the best one to join? You should ask yourself some questions
before you decide. That way you are making an informed decision,
and not just joining one because you think it looks good. So what
are these questions you want to ask yourself?

First, Does the company have a good reputation? You want to make
sure that you join a company that has not had a lot of problems.
Find out what others think of the internet affiliate program that
you are interested in. If others think highly of the program,
than it will be a good one to promote.

Second, what type of marketing help does the program provide? If
they only provide you with a few emails, solo ads, or banners
ads, but no other marketing help, that may not be the best one
for you. I am not saying these are not good affiliate programs,
but they are more for people who already know a lot about
marketing online. A good internet affiliate program will provide
you with ongoing support. Meaning that they will not leave you to
find your own way. The more support they have, the better the
affiliate program is.

Third, what is the commission that they offer? Some programs
only offer 10-20%. Others offer anywhere from 50-75%. Decide what
you want to make from an internet affiliate program before you
sign up with them. The amount of commission you want to make is
up to you. The ones that offer small commissions may have a
product that costs more than other products. Therefore it could
mean a really nice check for you. So find out what the product
costs, and how much they pay.

Fourth, when do they send out checks to their affiliates?
Obviously this will be an important question to find out because
everyone wants to know when they will be paid.

Fifth, do they provide tracking for your website? Without
tracking, you won't know how you are doing. A lot of internet
affiliate programs will provide this so you can find out what
your monthly stats are. If they don't provide this, than contact
them, and see what they suggest to keep track of your website
stats. This is important to know.

Sixth, does the internet affiliate program allow you to come up
with your own marketing materials? This may not be a big concern
for you, but to some people it is. Knowing how the company feels
about this can be important. That way if you want to write your
own emails, classified ads, or other marketing materials, you
will know whether this is permitted. You don't want to go against
the affiliate programs rules. Coming up with your own marketing
will also help you be different than other affiliates promoting
the same program as you. It personalizes things more to write
your own.

Seventh, does the company offer residual income? Also is it a
two-tier or single tier internet affiliate program? With residual
income programs, you will be able to make a monthly commission
for just one customer, for as long as they stay a customer. With
a two tier affiliate program you will make commissions off of
your efforts, and other affiliates that are below you. You make
the decision about what type of program you want to join, but
knowing this information is important. That way you know how
often you have to find a customer before getting paid. So find
out what type of program it is before joining.

These are all important questions that you want to ask yourself
before you join an internet affiliate program. Write down these,
and any other questions that you can think of before looking for
programs. That way you will be able to find out all the answers
before joining an affiliate program. Remember, you want to make
an informed decision about which company to promote. Knowing what
is important to you before hand will help you do that. So take
some time, and think about all the things that you want to know,
and than make a list. It is up to you to figure out which program
will work better for you. The more prepared you are when you
start looking, the easier it will be for you to make that decision.
